Diary of a Wimpy Kid (PG)

Scott:

Scott: Tonight we are once again joined by our 10 year old aspiring writer, Laney. She saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid this weekend and brings us this review.

Laney: Diary of a Wimpy Kid is about Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon), who is just starting 6th grade, and he actually thinks it will be great! That just tells you how smart he is. After his first day of middle school, he never wanted to go back. He got bullied, made fun of, humiliated, and embarrassed. The main embarrassment in Greg's life is his best friend, Rowley (Robert Capron). Rowley is just not middle school material. Greg's dream is to become famous, but I think Rowley, middle school, and his brother, Rodrick, are getting in the way.

The plot of the story was about friendship. Well, it was supposed to be but it didn't really give a lot of details about it. Greg and his dorky friend, Rowley, had an argument and that really broke up their friendship. But then, some bullies came over to torture Rowley by making him eat the moldiest, ugliest, most disgusting piece of cheese ever. But Greg stood up for his friend and said that he ate the cheese. Greg was always trying to be cool, but at the end he realizes that to be cool, you just have to be yourself.

This movie was somewhat humorous, but in some places; disgusting. I would give this movie 3 1/2 stars for this and the fact that the movie just didn't have that special feeling to it. It wasn't the best movie I had ever seen, but certainly not the worst. I definitely thought that this movie could be better. I mean, this movie was okay, but not wonderful, awesome, or even good.
